Our Programs

The Infant Program
The Infant/Toddler Program consists of 1 year olds and incorporates Montessori Pedagogy into each day of tender loving care. Here, the children are introduced to the Montessori atmosphere and prepared for the advancement into the Toddler Program.

The Toddler Program
This Toddler Program consists of 2 - 3 year olds. They act on their curiosity and explore their surroundings, with just the right dose of guidance from their teachers. Classrooms are inviting, child-centered places filled with hands-on activities that develop practical life skills, problem-solving strategies, and concentration.

The Pre-K and Kindergarten Primary Program
The Primary Classes for students ages 3 to 6 provide a prepared environment to meet the needs of the child. Children work individually and cooperatively with materials that engage their curiosity through the senses. Each child has freedom to explore and to observe. The direct aim is to develop a love of work and joy in learning.

The sensorial materials provide a sequentially ordered progression of experiences designed to help the child their sense of touch, smell, taste, as well as develop muscular coordination and control. The variety and progression of experiences enable the child to refine and classify his or her already existing sensory impressions.

The vast array of materials will engage the child with numbers and language, writing and reading, art and music - the tools of abstract reasoning and communication, and the bases of creative imagination and self-directed learning. Three to six year-olds share a classroom. These multi-age settings allow older students to share their knowledge with younger children and develop leadership skills, while younger students see and become excited about what lies ahead.

The Elementary Program
The child between 6 and 12 exhibits an explosive period of social and intellectual growth. Maria Montessori believed in using the child's energy and imagination to the advantage of the child. This program explores everything from the microscopic to the cosmic and allows the child to discover the interrelationships of all things. The program builds upon the foundations laid by the Primary Program. Materials and group activities develop individual and cooperative skills in the areas of botany, zoology, mathematics, language, history, geography, music, and the arts.

By reinforcing the child's sense of curiosity and community, he or she learns ways of inquiring, investigating, and resolving questions of interest and concern. This approach leads to an independent, self-directed student. The Elementary program's multi-age classrooms enhance skill building with lessons in leadership and respect. Students in grades 1-3 are grouped together, as are students in grades 4 - 8.
